Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann while handing over cheques  of financial assistance to the flood victims of various villages of her constituency Kharar at Kubbaheri village said that the Punjab government was committed to compensate the loss due to floods to provide solace to  people in  distress time.

Amidst its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday nabbed a Patwari, Jatinder Singh, posted at Handiaya while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Jaswinder Singh resident of Garcha road, Barnala.

The museums - Virasat-e-Khalsa at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dastan-e-Shahadat at Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Golden Temple Plaza at Amritsar, under the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs of Punjab, will remain closed for visitors till July 31 for half-yearly maintenance.

Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Friday nabbed Senior Constable Kinder Singh, Home Guard Jujhar and a Private Person Rohit Hans from Hoshiarpur for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1 Lakh. These accused have been arrested on the complaint of Conductor Gurmail Singh posted at Punjab Roadways Depot Hoshiarpur.

Chandigarh, July 21 :

          Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ram Prakash, posted at Police Station Patara in Jalandhar district, for accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000.

          The accused ASI has been arrested on the complaint of Jasvir Singh Judge resident of Guru Nanak Nagar of village Kaki. He is running a Dairy Farm at village Kangniwal.
