Chandigarh October 10 :

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state on Friday arrested Anil Vij, a reporter of a newspaper being published from Ludhiana, for accepting bribe of Rs 1, 00,000.

Amidst its ongoing campaign against corruption launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Monday arrested a SDO, Kabal Singh, of Mining department posted at Batala in Gurdaspur district for accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh and issuing a fake NOC.

Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday booked a retired District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO), Kuldeep Singh, who was also holding the charge of ADC (D) Pathankot and seven private individuals in connection with 734 kanal & one marla Panchayat land scam. Two beneficiary women have been arrested in the case.

Chandigarh, August 9:

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will take stern action against the travel agents, institutions and agencies working illegally in the state.

Disclosing this, Punjab NRI Affairs and Administrative Reforms Minister Mr. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the checking of licenses and other necessary approvals etc. is underway in all districts.

After a review meeting related to matters of NRIs with senior officials of various departments, Mr. Dhaliwal said that so far the information of 7179 travel agents, agencies, offices has been collected, of which 3547 have been checked by district teams.
