Govt. must prioritise teachers' demands

Alliance consisting six unions DTF Punjab, 6060 Teachers' Union, 3582 Teachers' Union, 6505 Teachers' Union, 3704 Teachers' Union and 2392 Teachers' Union , held a massive rally in front of DC office, Sangrur. In addition, Computer Teachers Union , 8736 temporary Teachers' Union, Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Manch Laungowal, Adarsh School Teachers Union Punjab also supported the agitation. State Leaders DigvijayPal Sharma ,Vikas Garg,Joginder Singh Wharey,Balbir Chand Longowal,Jujhar Longowal,Joney Singla,Rajpal Khanauri,Navcharnpreet Kaur, Harjinder Singh, Jaswinder Bathinda,Chhinder Singh Ladhuke,Yughjit Sran,Makhanveer Singh,Sukhwinder Sukhi,Lakhvir Harike,Karamjit Tamkot,Daljit Samrala and Sukhpaljit Singh of the said unions addressed the gathering.Orators condemned the State Govt. for the incomplete notification of Old Pension Scheme and lack of its implementation, implementation of Centre Govt. pay scale for employees recruited after 17-07-2020 ,A meagre rise in pay instead of regularisation of the contractual teachers, No regularisation of computer Teachers and NSQF Teachers with all the financial benefits,no taking back of 25-01-2015 notification , ACP scheme , 8886 RMSA/SSA Teachers salary cut, no implementation of DA arrear for the period of January 2016 to June 2021, unneeded condition of testing for new recruitments after 2018, pendency of DA arrears, pendency of arrears of 5178 and 8886 teachers, lack of chance of transfers for teachers appointed in border schools, New Education Policy 2020, bottleneck in promotions in the edu. Deptt., and high rise in PSEB fee schedule . The leaders threw a light on the privatization priorities of the govt. via New Edu Policy, big bulk of financial support to eminence Schools instead of Primary and Middle Schools' betterment. and negligence towards Govt schools. They condemned that CM Punjab had notime to hold a single meeting with teacher unions whereas he is curious to initiate a discussion with Opposition Parties . Govt. was harshly criticised for lathicharge of employed and unemployed youth . The massive crowd jammed the Barnala square in result of which administration Sangrur assured a meeting with Cabinet Sub Committee. The leaders warned the Govt., in lack of implementation and non acceptance of teachers demands, agitation will rise sky high and Aam Admy Party will suffer in next Parliamentary Elections 2024
