Chandigarh May 5 :

          The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption has arrested Barinder Kumar, resident of village Tura, Jalandhar district and his wife Deepak Bala, for colluding with other accused who had sold land in village Karura, Rupnagar district to the state government at a price much higher than the prevalent collector rate causing a huge loss to the state exchequer.

          The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign under the zero tolerance policy against corruption adopted by the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government, on Friday arrested Rakha Singh @ Lakha, a private assistant of doctor Asish Kumar, posted at Civil Hospital Mansa for demanding a bribe of Rs 3,500.

          The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, on Tuesday exposed a big scam worth crores of rupees by arresting seven accused including a revenue official for receiving huge compensations during acquisition of land on forged documents in Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) in connivance with officials of state horticultural and revenue department from 2016 to 2020.

          The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign under the zero tolerance policy against corruption adopted by the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government, on Friday arrested Rajan Kumar, Junior Engineer (J.E.)  electricity, Sub-Division-2, Punjab Public Works Department (Building and Roads) Bathinda for obtaining Rs 12,000 and demanding Rs 7,000 more as a bribe.
