The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is constantly striving for the welfare of the people of the state. Under this series, a project of 35.20 crores has been approved by the Punjab Government for revitalization of sewerage system of Malout.
Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that in every public meeting, the main demand of the people was to solve the sewage problem. For the last 8 years, the residents of Malout were suffering from sewage problem. All the motors were damaged and had failed. There were no generators on the disposal. Sewer of the main wards 19, 25, 26, 27 of the city and main sewerage of Fazilka Road had become damaged and sewerage had become the major problem of the people.
Dr. Baljit Kaur added that the Punjab government is the government of the people. In view of the demand of the people, the project of 35.20 crores has been passed by the government to revive the system of Malout and the work will be started under the tender of about 9 crores in this financial year. With which new machinery will be arranged on all disposals along with generators during power cut.
The cabinet minister further said that the residents of the main wards 19, 25, 26, 27 of the city will get rid of the sewage problem and the pond and motor of ward 17 are being managed separately.
