Eight workers were killed in a road accident in Bihar's Purnia. Eight people are reported seriously injured. The accident took place at around 3.30 am today near Kali Mandir in Jalalgarh police station area. All the workers were traveling from Tripura to Jammu and Kashmir in a truck carrying boring pipes. All the workers are from Rajasthan.
This morning the truck overturned uncontrollably on NH-57. At the time of the accident, all the workers were sleeping on the iron pipes loaded in it. As soon as the truck overturned, 8 workers were buried under the pipes that thay died on the spot. News spread in the area after the incident. A crowd of people gathered around. As soon as the information was received, the police rushed to the spot, took the bodies in their possession and sent them to the hospital for postmortem.
